Job Summary

Patel, Greene & Associates (PGA) is seeking a motivated Traffic Project Engineer to bolster our growing traffic group. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of advanced traffic design principles and show a desire to improve upon his/her talent while working under a senior traffic engineer on a wide variety of projects for FDOT, counties, municipalities, and other transportation agencies.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ability to act as Engineer of Record for less complex projects
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all traffic design concepts, software, manuals and criteria
  • Commonly serves in role of lead technical professional (LTP), but typically under the responsible charge of a more senior PE
  • Proficient in technical writing
  • Assist Project Managers in a variety of project administrative duties
  • Able to prepare technical documents for public meetings, presentations and traffic studies
  • Capable of leading marketing efforts for less complex projects
  • Capable of presenting to client on projects that PGA is pursuing
  • Assist Senior Engineers with marketing efforts on larger, more complex projects
  • Mentor and direct Engineer Interns, Designers, and Technical Staff in completing tasks, providing frequent peer reviews on their work
  • Requires little-to-no technical supervision by senior staff
  • Complete tasks and projects within established supervisor’s expectations

Education and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or appropriate equivalent\
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Must have between 4-10 years of progressively complex engineering experience
  • Proficiency with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years traffic engineering experience
  • Experience with FDOT projects and/or procedures
  • Experience with traffic design related software, such as Agi32, HCS 2010, Synchro, etc.
  • Knowledge of MUTCD and FDOT requirements
