As a Municipal Project Engineer at Widseth, you will be involved in project management, client relations, and design in a variety of projects. If you aspire to be an important player on great projects, this position is for you!

What You Will Do: As a Municipal Project Engineer, you will perform the following to varying degrees:

• Play the lead role in project design and coordination.
• Collaborate with other groups/disciplines within the company to deliver top quality projects and unparalleled service to our clients.
• Perform design calculations, cost estimates, and plan preparation.
• Compile, write, and edit quality technical reports, feasibility reports, letters, memos, and specifications.
• Help with proposals, project budgets and schedules, planning activities, and public involvement and other presentation opportunities.
• Oversee the work of EITs or Technicians.

• Plan, direct, and coordinate all project activities to ensure that projects are delivered within prescribed time frames and budgets.
• Have opportunities to lead multiple work teams, manage multiple complex projects, identify new projects, formulate an approach to projects, lead the proposal process, formulate, track and meet project budgets and schedules, and market to and secure work from new and existing clients.

Your experience level will determine the amount of independent judgment granted, the complexity of tasks performed, and direct supervision received.

To be considered for this position you’ll need to meet the following minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Professional licensure (PE) in the state of Minnesota or North Dakota.
• 5 to 10-plus years’ experience in consulting engineering
• Knowledge of MnDOT and/or NDDOT requirements
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation is preferred.
