The successful candidate will join our Petroleum and Petrochemical Business Unit to support projects in the Rocky Mountain Region and assist in providing clients across many industries with effective, responsive, and safe solutions. The position requires working at commercial and industrial site locations and involves up to 50% travel.
The preferred candidate will be based in our Billings, MT office.
Required Qualifications
0-3+ years of relevant experience
A bachelor’s degree in geology, geologic engineering, hydrogeology, environmental engineering, environmental sciences, or similar
Willingness to obtain professional licensure/certification (e.g., PG, PE, CHMM, or similar)
Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team members verbally and in writing
Commitment to safe work practices
Initiative and motivation, with an emphasis on completing project deliverables on schedule
Dependable, with the ability to work independently and within a team environment
Clean driving record, with the ability to travel to client sites and other Trihydro offices
Mechanical aptitude
Fluency with Microsoft Excel
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of senior project managers, the successful candidate will:
Scope, cost, plan, execute, and report for environmental investigation and remediation projects
Develop work plans and health & safety plans, brief field staff, and coordinate with regulatory agencies, subcontractors and, clients to execute investigation and remediation projects
Oversee and perform field investigations that include surface reconnaissance, surface mapping, surface water measurements and sampling, drilling, trenching, and multi-media sample collection (air, water, soil) for field and laboratory testing
Manage and evaluate data, perform analyses, and compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal standards for regulatory compliance
Evaluate remedial alternatives for soil, groundwater, sediment, and indoor air impacts and develop Remedial Implementation Work Plans
Oversee and perform remedial activities for impacted soil (excavation, in situ treatment, etc.), groundwater (extraction, in situ treatment, etc.), and vapor (indoor air mitigation system, engineering controls, etc.)
Prepare investigation summary, remedy implementation, performance monitoring, and site closure reports for submittal to clients and agencies
Prepare engineering plans/documents, specifications, and drawings
Prepare proposals and cost estimates for new business opportunities
