Job description
Nationally recognized environmental remediation contractor seeks a Project Office Engineer support our project in New Bedford, Massachusetts. A full-time position, this long-term assignment will support environmental remediation projects at this site.

The daily work will include:
Assist preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring and daily construction activities.
Monitoring compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
Interacting daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and representing them in the field.
Assist in the maintenance of contract documents and electronic web based documents for field operations.
Preparation of daily construction reports (DCR’s).
Review all work as it is being placed to be sure it is accurate, within accepted tolerances and in compliance with the project construction documents.
Review contract drawings, specifications and shop drawings to ensure proper coordination and installation.
Assist in the preparation of project as builts documentation.
Track the progress of field work for assigned trades
Track availability and shipment status of critical equipment and materials
Ensure products used are the products approved for use

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or applicable science degree from an accredited college/university. This position requires a well-organized individual with good communication skills as the selected individual will interact regularly with internal project management staff, field supervision, professional services, construction subcontractors, and the client’s representatives.

Other job requirements include:
0 to 5 years previous construction or engineering/consulting industry experience supporting construction
Intermediate to proficient knowledge of AutoCAD software
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
Knowledge or prior use of MS Project a plus
General knowledge of OSHA safety regulations a plus
I.T. certification preferred
Prior experience in environmental dredging and GPS technology preferred
Generalized heavy civil/earthwork construction experience preferred

SALARY/BENEFITS:
