POSITION DESCRIPTION

A Project Engineer is a construction professional with many years of experience who plays a supporting role in the overall construction and management of multiple projects. Coordination of multiple projects from start to finish including the initial development of the scope of work and completion of the work to the satisfaction of the client. The Project Engineer works directly with the Project Manager, Superintendents, Subcontractors, Architects, and Clients. Long-term objectives include periodic review of job practices for quality, efficiency, work methods, and following company policies. The Project Engineer’s performance is measured through Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI’s) to contribute to the overall success of the company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PROJECT DOCUMENT CONTROL

  • Possess general knowledge of construction documents.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of how to input data into Procore and/or Microsoft Excel and Word as needed.
  • Set up physical job binders with all required information for the project Superintendent.

PROJECT SPECIFIC MATERIAL/INFORMATION

  • Maintain all RFI, sub change order, submittal and procurement logs up-to-date and 100% accurate.
  • Ensure each Superintendent has all approved RFI‘s, change orders, submittals, and status on Long-Lead items at all times.

PROJECT MEETINGS AND MINUTES

  • Accurate input and distribution of updated OAC meeting minutes within 24 hours after each meeting concludes.

PROJECT CLOSE OUT

  • Complete management of the closeout process for each project.
  • Perform continual follow up with the project Superintendent and Subcontractors on obtaining the closeout documents.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working for a Commercial General Contractor.
  • Must read and comprehend construction plans, specifications, material schedules, documents.
  • Excellent English reading and writing skills.
  • Savvy Computer skills: Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project) ProCore, Foundation Accounting
  • Must be able to walk outdoor construction sites with uneven terrain and obstacles.
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • OSHA 30 Card

  • MS Projects or P6: 1 year (Preferred)
