Under the supervision of Hub for Health Intervention, Policy and Practice (HHIPP) Director of Research Programs, Elizabeth Wu, and Professor Ian Holloway, the Project Coordinator ( will serve as a member of the HHIPP research team and is assigned responsibility for coordinating and implementing a variety of funded research projects. The Project Coordinator will coordinate research activities, which include preparing Institutional Review Board protocols, developing research-related materials and identifying, developing and facilitating new strategic project opportunities for the HHIPP research team. The Project Coordinator will:

Job Summary Statement:
1. Prepare and edit proposals for research funding opportunities;
2. Conduct research and/or organize and coordinate research teams as appropriate to the research projects;
3. Write technical research reports and complete project reporting required by the funder;
4. Other duties as assigned based on new research and event opportunities.

The Project Coordinator will support and manage multiple projects with various deadlines. Within the HHIPP research team, the Project Coordinator will focus on (1) LGBT health disparities; and (2) HIV at the intersection of mental health and substance use.

The Project Coordinator will operate with a high degree of autonomy. They will independently determine how to carry out assignments, make independent judgments regarding whether topics require additional consultation, and with whom, and undertake appropriate action. The Project Coordinator will be proactive in identifying potential problems and opportunities and bring appropriate issues to the attention of Elizabeth Wu and Professor Holloway while providing creative recommendations or action.

Required/Preferred

1. Progressive responsibility and experience as a professional administrator and the ability to conceptualize, develop and implement innovative ways to involve campus and external constituents in a professional school setting at a major university.

2. A high degree of political sophistication and understanding of policy issues affecting people living with HIV (PLWH) and sexual and gender minorities (SGM).

3. Demonstrated strategic planning, grant writing, and evaluation skills.

4. Ability to conceptualize, implement and manage complex projects including budget management and grant reporting

5. Excellent writing skills to prepare communication materials ranging from technical research reports to marketing materials that are analytical, grammatically correct, and if necessary, succinct and contain persuasive policy recommendations.

7. Persuasive oral communication skills to lead meetings, explain complex ideas to diverse audiences, build consensus, and influence decision making by internal and external groups from all organizational levels.
