Project Accountant

Job Description: As leaders in project excellence, LATA has over four decades of proven success in global and domestic markets as a small business specializing in federal government contracting. The Project Accountant is responsible for producing timely & accurate project invoices, project reporting, project cost management, and ad hoc project reporting as assigned. This includes complete, timely, and accurate reporting of project cost to senior management and program managers. Works under direct supervision of the Controller. This position will require a strong commitment to mastering the responsibilities and tasks listed below.

Regular duties include:

  • Ensures timely and accurate billings, resolves invoicing questions, and provides project reporting in a fast-paced environment.
  • Issue project cost reports to customers, program managers, and senior management.
  • Issue billings resulting from new provisional or final rate approval.
  • Works with PM’s to solve problems, track costs, and help them understand the health of their projects.
  • Analyzing and reconciling project invoices, unbillable, costs on hold, and the overall project health while communicate findings to customers, direct supervisor, and/or program managers in a timely manner.
  • Set-up project billing information and revenue formulas for new contracts and tasks.
  • Review and correct weekly labor categories and accounts.
  • Complete closeout billings in a timely manner.
  • Work one Saturday each month to begin billing cycle.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Job Requirements:

  • Associates degree or three (3) years’ experience in accounting or business-related field.
  • Three (3) years progressive experience in accounting operations to include the production of accounting reports & financials.
  • Work with all levels of management.
  • Work independently and manage multiple tasks, including assignment of proper prioritization, exercise initiative and work under pressure.
  • Determine operational trends that are impacting cost and revenue budget analysis.
  • Meet deadlines.
  • Intermediate-level computer skills that include all the Microsoft Office Suite of software.
  • Offer contingent upon results of background check and pre-employment drug test.

Salary:

  • $50,000 to $80,000 per year
