PURPOSE:

Assist in the preparation, delivery, and upkeep of the Bob Ross painting studio and associated programming; support staff as needed in other programming. Evening and weekend work required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent; 0-1 year of experience in customer service or tourism-related position. Classroom, oil painting, and/or museum-related experience a plus.

• Demonstrate excellent communication skills and a clear speaking voice; present a professional attitude and appearance, sound interpersonal skills, and good record keeping skills.
• Use strong organizational skills, be able to prioritize multiple projects/tasks and to work with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
• Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including familiarity with Word and Outlook; Excel and database experience a plus.

JOB DUTIES:

• Host Certified Ross Instructor (CRI) training days and Bob Ross Painting workshops; welcome visitors to the Bob Ross Studio and acquaint them with the space.
• Monitor guest experiences in the studio and provide support as needed.
• Prepare materials for the Bob Ross Painting Workshop including canvases and paint supplies.
• Maintain and clean the painting studio in advance of guests’ arrival and after each session.
• Inform visitors about future programs and events to sell and cross-sell these experiences to the public.
• Provide support to other programmatic offerings as assigned.
• Perform all other duties required

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work schedule flexibility is critical; will need to work some evenings and weekends and be able to move about the entire Minnetrista 40-acre campus. Work is mainly indoors and occasionally outdoors in all weather conditions. Travel required between buildings. Must be able to work in an office environment but primarily in other spaces including outdoors. May involve standing on uneven surfaces, natural surfaces, or concrete floors for long periods of time. Must be able to stretch, carry, reach overhead and lift up to 20 lbs. Exposure to oil paint and solvents likely. Must be able to traverse stairs.
