Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Program Outreach Assistant will proactively recruit construction projects into our energy design assistance programs, which serve our electric and gas utility clients. The Program Outreach Assistant will identify, research, and assist with recruiting ideal projects into new construction incentive programs.

Success in this role will contribute to real, measurable cost savings for our clients and has the potential to make a meaningful impact towards carbon emissions reduction across the US.

Additional Duties

  • Identify and cultivate prospective participants in select utility programs.
  • Engage in regular outreach including architect/engineer lunch and learns, cold calling, and active email campaigns.
  • Form and maintain positive relationships with customers and partners.
  • Work with practice group managers and program managers to meet participation and revenue goals. CEDA monthly application goal is 22 for Northern California
  • Forecast project enrollment to assist practice group managers with intelligence, assessment, planning, and strategy as it relates to the delivery of contracted work.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor as business needs dictate.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent organization and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Motivated and self-directed with an ability to follow through on commitments.
  • Ability to complete work assignments and projects on time or in advance of scheduled deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business Administration, Business Management, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field OR 5+ years of sales or marketing experience in the construction, architecture, or engineering industry


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the local Architectural Design firms, Developers / Owners, and the construction industry
  • Quantitative and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to meet obstacles with resourcefulness and generate innovative approaches and ideas for improving work.
  • Ability to listen carefully and impartially to others and gauge their wants, risks, and needs prior to speaking.

Work product of the must be high quality. Must have ability to innovate process improvements to achieve the highest operational standards. Takes a proactive approach to safety in the workplace for all Willdan Performance Engineering, Willdan Group, Inc. operations, subsidiaries, offices, company worksites, client/affiliate worksites, while traveling on behalf of the company and while working remotely.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell; traverse business office areas.


Must be able to type on a computer keyboard, use 10-key, dial a telephone and efficiently utilize other common office equipment requiring the ability to use fingers and hands on a regular basis using fine motor movements. Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and 25 pounds on an occasional basis. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.


Must be able to effectively communicate, both in writing and verbally, complex ideas, information, and concepts to all levels in the organization including executive management. Must be able to participate in verbal and written conversations, requiring ability to read, talk, hear, and understand what others are communicating as well as able to write, speak and effectively communicate with others.


Workplace Conditions and Environment:

Regularly works in a modern business office environment and may occasionally work at other off-site locations. This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, regular business hours. This position may infrequently require longer hours and weekend work.

Office environment is temperature controlled from 65 – 75 degrees, no exposure to variable extremes of excessive heat or cold temperatures.

Mild exposure to electrical shock through the use of office equipment such as computers, printers, telephones, cellular phones and copier machines.


Equipment Used:

Modern office equipment used includes personal computer, printer, telephone, cellular phone and copy machine.
