The expected annual salary range for this role is $101250.0 - $148500.0 a year.

What you’ll do:

Position Overview:
Eaton Research Labs (ERL), located in Golden, CO has an opening for a Program Manager. The Program Manager is a member of ERL, reporting directly to the Manager, PMO Global ERL. ERL has an exciting and rewarding position of Program Manager to lead innovation programs and customer relationships. A unique blend of broad technical knowledge and strong business acumen is required to be successful in this position.
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Manager, PMO Global ERL. This position is based in Golden CO, and will primarily support Energy Systems government programs.

In this function you will:
  • Lead execution of innovative energy systems technology-based programs.
  • Responsible for the successful execution of research programs within their scope, schedule, cost and quality commitments.
  • Lead and support advancing the state of the art energy systems projects. May also include leading projects for electrical, industrial, automotive, truck, and aerospace applications.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural globally distributed teams.
  • Provide support during program proposal efforts in determining WBS, level of effort, resource planning and cost.
  • Ensure proprietary and customer provided controlled information is managed and protected as required.
  • Manage Profit and Loss of Research & Technology programs. Responsibility, Authority and Accountability (RAA) for every project scope delivery and successful execution within technical, schedule, cost and quality commitments.
  • Lead and support global technology programs utilizing Eaton’s internal AgileStarts™ framework including Technology Reviews and Project Reviews.
  • Provide direction to the project team members in areas of project execution, customer concerns, changes in scope and risk assessment. Communicate and manage customer expectations and contractual commitments.
  • Maintain and report applicable metrics for programs, e.g. quality, technical performance, and readiness levels (technology, commercial, manufacturing).
  • Coordinate communications channels with customers that will ensure the exchange of information relating to product characteristics, quality, delivery and service.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships with Business Divisions and externally (Universities, National Labs, End Customers).
  • Manage multi-cultural distributed teams on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Assist contracts management with procurement processes for subcontractors and project materials.
  • Initiate and track required Non-Disclosure Agreements with customers, vendors, and partners including national labs and academic institutions.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from accredited institution is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing projects and programs with multiple stakeholders and high degree of complexity, including components/subsystem/system scope of responsibility, high risk, and significant NRE budget
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • No relocation provided. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Golden, CO in order to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in the Engineering field
  • Certified DFSS Green Belt or Black Belt
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) license through Project Management Institute (PMI)
  • Entrepreneurial experience or related commercial experience
  • Certified ScrumMaster
  • Experience in managing government projects (DoE, DoD)
  • Management of SharePoint sites
  • Experience with project management tools
  • High competency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with Agile tools such as JIRA

  • Experience with Engineering projects/programs.
  • Proven track record in new product/technology development projects that resulted in successful commercialization.
  • Proven track record of achieving program execution results through robust quantitative program management techniques.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Microsoft Project experience essential.
