A New Leaf’s Faith House Crisis Shelter is a safe haven for people trying to escape a domestic violence situation. Survivors can recover from sexual assault and homelessness. As the longest operating domestic violence shelter in Arizona, Faith House has a long legacy of service to survivors in need.

With a home-like feel, the shelter always prioritizes safety and comfort. Security is a top priority, with staff working round the clock to protect survivors. The shelter is hosted at a confidential location with onsite security precautions and a gated entry. By providing a strong foundation, the shelter helps survivors find hope and healing as they move forward with the next chapter of their lives.

Salary: Starting from $52,000 (depending on years of experience)
Location: Glendale, AZ

QUALIFICATIONS: Education:
  • High School or GED required.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience:
  • Two (2) years’ experience in managing programs and/or the supervision of staff.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence and community resources/supports available.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in the formulation, development, implementation and monitoring of direct services and programs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and experience with Trauma Informed Practice.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
  • Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate staff to meet program needs, goal setting will encourage ongoing professional growth and expectations focused on personal strengths of the individual.
  • Be responsible for the overall operations of the shelter program through trauma informed approaches to: physical environment client centered care/services and staff support and supervision.
  • Demonstrate cultural humility through awareness of culturally responsive supports for clients and staff.
  • Schedule and monitor staff workload ensuring staff are completing their job description activities timely and effectively while adhering to the agency code of conduct.
  • Complete staff orientation checklists, competencies, and performance evaluations in a timely manner.
  • Complete and submit all required reports, documentation, and narratives to Finance, Grants, or Contracts per process determined by each department and within the required timeframe.
  • Work with program staff to ensure that all documentation and paperwork required by funding agencies are completed accurately and in a timely fashion. Ensure data system is appropriate to program needs and staff have appropriate skills for data entry.
  • Establish relationships with external partners and community organizations to build/maintain an agency/division-wide presence in the West Valley. Participate in activities and events as appropriate, representing agency/division services and resources.
  • Establish working relationships with the all support departments, communicate with them effectively and efficiently assuring deadlines are met with accuracy and in a timely manner.
  • Attends meetings including those sponsored by the state coalition (ACESDV), funding sources, and other stakeholders within the Domestic Violence service continuum.
  • Demonstrate the ability to implement and manage organizational changes through a team approach, promote a sense of shared ownership and a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the program’s purpose and goals, identifying and allocating resources that supports the purpose and goals of the program. Adhere to agency policy with regard to protecting the interests of individuals and the agency as a whole.
  • Report to the Director in a timely manner any areas of concern, communicate as appropriate information detailing client census, physical plant issues, unusual or emergent circumstances or any safety issues relating to clients or staff.
  • Understand and review the budget regularly with Director and/or Chief Program Officer. Ask questions for clarity on issues noted and work with finance to resolve any areas of concern.
  • Work with the Philanthropy/Human Resources Departments in placement of volunteers and/or interns as available and appropriate. Create an environment for staff that ensures goals and objectives are reflective of the Agency vision and mission. Coordinates, involves, and seeks input from staff to increase individual and team empowerment opportunities.
  • Participate in "on call" rotation.
