TITLE: P rogram Director - Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS)

LOCATION: Hampton, NJ (Hunterdon County)

The purpose of the Program Director is to ensure the contract deliverables, utilization and compliance of all program aspects to regulatory agencies and Allies Policies and Procedures governing Children's Behavioral Health Services. To ensure that the customer (herein referred to as Youth) is being provided with the physical, intellectual, emotional, psychiatric rehabilitative and social skills to progress toward a less intense support need (step-down).

Requirements :

  • Master's Degree in a relevant discipline (i.e. social work, counseling)
  • Three years of experience supervising children's behavioral health programs
  • Valid unrestricted driver's license with clean driving record
  • Ability to lift or transfer at least 50 pounds
  • The ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, reach, be agile, physically pursue individuals on foot and stand for several hours at a time
  • Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate in English and direct/respond to individual's needs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Required Skill Level :

  • The ability to exercise good judgment and use common sense.
  • The ability to perform crisis prevention.
  • The ability to develop and implement a culturally competent program.
  • The ability to implement the job description for the Program Manager and successfully onboard and develop subordinates.
  • The ability to lead a clinical treatment team addressing the psychiatric stabilization and rehabilitation needs of Youth with co-occurring diagnoses.

Responsibilities :

  • Working a 40 hour salaried, unlimited, flexible schedule.
  • Sharing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on-call responsibilities with the Program Manager, specifically for call-outs, shift coverage and program emergencies.
  • Directly supervising and evaluating the Program Manager and Residential Counselors.
  • Completes annual training, including role specific trainings relative to Accreditation and Continuous Quality Improvement.
  • Monitoring all clinical treatment.
  • Consulting with the Youth Psychiatrist.
  • Communicating with the DCF Children's System of Care and Case Management Organizations regarding referral, placement, treatment and discharge.
  • Implementing and maintaining communication with the Children's System of Care to ensure a waiting list with a 4.2 census goal.
  • Monitoring program budget and expenditures.
  • Coordinating treatment and discharge with inpatient units (hospitals).
  • Verifying and processing intake and discharge paperwork in compliance with DCF standards.
  • Enrolling Youth in relevant school placements.
  • Maintaining case files in compliance with DCF standards and Medicaid regulations.
  • Monitoring preauthorization, assessment, treatment and billing in compliance with Medicaid regulations.
  • Reviewing documentation of Units of Service prior to Medicaid billing.
  • Participating in regular treatment team meetings.
  • Submitting Incident Reports to the DCF.
  • Cooperating with DCF during licensing activities.
  • Cooperating with Agency Administration in the submission of applicable plans of correction to the DCF Institutional Abuse Investigation Unit.
  • Developing and implementing core competency and ongoing IRTS specific training as determined by the DCF standards.
  • Adhering to the IRTS and IIH DCF contracts, DCF standards and Medicaid regulations.
  • Submitting the bi-monthly census to the Agency Fiscal Department.
  • Participating in the Agency Clinical Intervention Team.
  • Collaborating with Agency Quality Assurance during regular reviews; addressing review findings for clinical services.
  • Participating with the Agency in the development and expansion of Children's Services.
  • Attending Agency meetings and trainings.
  • Maintaining and monitoring own credentialing as required.
  • Collaborating with Human Resources to maintain credentialing requirements of the Youth Therapist.
  • Other duties as assigned
