Reporting to the COO, the Program Director is responsible for the operational success of all Schoolhouse of Wonder programs, hiring, training, and supervision of all Schoolhouse staff, development and management of the program budget, and partnerships and strategic alliances in service of the Schoolhouse mission.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence, program development and delivery, quality control, and evaluation of Schoolhouse programs including camps, family and community programs, and other special events and activities- Build and maintain strong relationships and establish trusted lines of communication with Schoolhouse participants, families, teachers, chaperones, staff, customers, volunteers, and community partners
- Ensure extraordinary customer service
- Exhibit exemplary adherence to Schoolhouse’s values, policies, and procedures to provide safe and high-quality programs
- Help create, maintain, and uphold style and brand guidelines (internal and external)
- Represent Schoolhouse in community partnerships and events (e.g. outreach events, fundraising, etc.) as needed and serve as a key external face of Schoolhouse of Wonder
- Research, monitor, and present relevant data, trends, successes, and best practices in all areas of responsibilities including child development, industry practices, SEL, and related research
- Working with your supervisor, design and implement a professional development plan, including continuing education and familiarity with best practices
- Participate in marketing/promotional strategies and Schoolhouse events as requested
- Other duties as assigned including direct work within programs
Supervision of Program Staff include but are not limited to:
- Supervise the Wake County Site Manager, Orange County Site Manager, and Durham County Site Manager
- Partner with core Schoolhouse staff to support and mentor seasonal and year-round staff and volunteers
- Set an excellent example of methods, work ethic, and effective communication including timely feedback
- Supervise and assist in hiring and staff training for all program staff including working with core staff to plan and deliver staff training for seasonal and year-round staff
- Work with the COO to develop objective performance measurements to evaluate the skill, experience, and professional development needs of program staff
- Plan, implement, and oversee work schedules, winter work plans, performance evaluations, and staff training and enrichment
Program Administration include but are not limited to:
Partner with the CEO and COO to develop and oversee the annual program budget including meeting annual budget projections and program revenue goals- In coordination with program staff, develop and implement program evaluation systems, analyze data, and utilize information to create program improvement plans
- Partner with the COO to provide program management including program and event planning, program supply inventory and purchasing, program registration, and staffing
- Partner with CEO and COO to create multi-year program plans for all program areas and locations, existing and potential
- Collaborate with staff on marketing, advertising, online content creation, the Schoolhouse website, and registration software

$40,000 - $45,000 per year
