Overview:
POSITION SUMMARY
This position serves as coordinator of the following victim service grant programs: sexual assault, domestic violence, sexual assault nurse examiners, the sexual assault response team and advocacy. The incumbent will provide capacity building for all grant programs in collaboration with grant management, employees, members, advocacy agencies, law enforcement and community agencies. The coordinator will abide by guidelines set forth by grant management and the grantor. The incumbent is responsible for the overall collection, retention of data, monitoring of performance improvement, and generating reports. This position will facilitate and participate in the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) initiatives and community outreach. The incumbent will act with independence in performance of duties, conducting periodic reviews and analysis of program operations, training and contingency plans. Incumbent will participate in special and ongoing projects to ensure that goals, objectives are being met to achieve maximum efficient outcomes and requirements set by management. This is a grant funded position.
Qualifications:

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, criminal justice, public health, healthcare or related field.

Experience:

Must have two (2) progressive years of experience in family violence treatment, outreach, community collaboration or other human service field internship.

Certification:

  • Must obtain Victim Advocacy training certificate upon hire or obtain within 60 days of hire as a condition of continued employment.
  • Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association, if none, must obtain within 90 days of hire date
  • Must have and maintain a current unrestricted Driver’s license

Other Skills and Abilities:

Physical:

Work is mostly sedentary, must be able to sit for prolong periods of time with occasional reaching with hands and arms, standing, walking, driving, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and twisting, must also be able to frequently maintain balance. . . Position requires ability for prolonged near vision, color vision, depth perception, seeing fine details, hearing normal speech, hearing overhead pages, frequent far and near vision and telephone use. The work requires the ability to carry items such as charts, books, papers, and related documents or files. Must be able to lift up to 10lbs for a prolonged period of time, and lift, push and pull over 100lbs as needed. Position requires prolong repetitive motion actions in both hands with simple/firm grasping and fine manipulation. Work Environment:

This position typically works in an environmental controlled indoor sedentary setting with rare intermittent need to work in outdoor weather conditions. The noise level is typically moderate level. May be exposed to infectious diseases for a prolonged period of time with occasional exposure to chemical agents, dust, fumes, gases, extremes in temperature or humidity, hazardous or moving equipment, unprotected heights and loud noises.

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Coordinate administrative activities of the victim service grant program functions which include budgeting, maintaining adequate funding, grant proposals, budget development, program development, public relations, develop and implement policies and procedures, reporting and evaluation.
  • Develop a system for collecting statistics and case tracking of victims served by the grant program(s) and takes appropriate measures to maintain strict confidentiality of all records.
  • Coordinate scheduling and agenda items for grant program meetings, activities and provides content information to team members prior to the meeting date to strategize for a better outcome. Maintain regular communication with members (advocacy, SANE, SART etc.,) to ensure consistent participation in SART activities.
  • Coordinate effective interagency collaboration to generate a synchronized response team to meet the needs of pediatric, adolescent and adult victims or survivors. Maintain a network of victim advocacy services contacts to ensure 24/7 availability.
  • Plan and coordinate training activities related to all aspects of victim services for the SART staff, SART members, and staff in related systems, and volunteers. Provide ongoing education to the public and works to involve each community in reporting and prevention activities
  • Perform Performance Improvement surveillance to meet benchmark measures for grant requirements and organizational PI requirements
  • Collaborate and assist the victim advocate to ensure victim service coverage.
  • Require the ability to work a flexible schedule with on-call and administrative time.
  • Develop and review service plans in consultation with clients and perform follow-up, assessing the quantity and quality of services provided.
  • Respond and react to crisis response and/or walk-in client needs.
  • Participate in team, community, quality assurance review meetings and programs as assigned.
  • Meet strict deadlines.
  • Participate in professional development, meetings, conferences, and in-services.
  • Complete all electronic health record entries accurately and timely pertinent to patient care role.
  • Participate in departmental workflow and or testing teams as related to electronic health record or other project initiatives.
  • Ensure Proper PPE is used at all times while on duty. Face surgical mask is to be worn in all hospital areas. Proper handwashing is required. If water is not available use hand sanitizer. Social distancing will be practiced by department.
  • Proper PPE is used inside assigned Clinics or Units. NIOSH- approved N95 Masks filtering face piece respirator or higher, if available, this includes eye or face shields, gloves, and isolation gowns.
  • Complete all donning and doffing tasks in a safe acceptable method and discard of used PPE accordingly. Complete provided training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
