Location: Pio Decimo - Tucson AZ

Full-time (40 hours per week)

The Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall management and operations of the child care programs at Pio Decimo Center. Supervise program staff and is responsible for ensuring the quality and effectiveness of the programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for licensed child care site management and security, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Supervise child care staff for early education and after-school programs to ensure program goals are being maintained. Responsible for staff evaluations and recommendations for discipline, including hiring and firing
  • Responsible for program development to achieve goals and objectives as stated in contractual agreements with funders
  • Represent the Child Care Programs with other community programs, networks with schools and organizations, and attends meetings and special events as needed
  • Coordinate outside professional services for the center related to ongoing child care licensing requirements (security, fire inspections, and health inspections) and maintain related records
  • Coordinate with the Executive Director to ensure that all licensing and accreditation issues are considered in Child Care and After-School Program planning
  • Maintain appropriate program, client, and staff files to comply with regulations of funders and Pio Decimo Center; responsible for written reports as required
  • Responsible for general oversight of budget and accounts payable, working with other staff to ensure timely payment to vendors
  • Assist with developing other fundraising efforts and preparing informational materials

Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Duties

  • Direct and manage the Child and Adult Care Food Program
  • Train staff on policies and procedures of the CACFP
  • Menu planning of meals not provided by contracted vendor
  • Develop menu production sheets for meals not provided by contracted vendor
  • Review and classify income affidavits; provide income classification information to office staff
  • Edit check meal counts and the free, reduced, paid and afterschool snack rosters
  • Prepare and serve meals, clean kitchen and/or eating areas, monitor participants and take meal counts in the absence of staff assigned to these duties
  • Purchasing

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Suitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position, and will be considered by the Corporate Director of Human Resources.

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development or related field
  • 3 years Social Service experience, supervisory, administration and operation experience
  • Proven ability to prioritize work and good attention to detail
  • Proven computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven communication skills-oral and written communications are clear, concise, and in an organized fashion using appropriate style, grammar and tone
  • Obtain State of Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Valid Arizona Driver License, proof of insurance and Arizona Motor Vehicle division 39 months Motor Vehicle Report
  • TB skin test and drug screening
  • First Aid and CPR certification

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Additional years of directly related experience
  • Experience in managing a program budget

Bilingual, English/Spanish verbal and written
