Position Title: Program Coordinator

About Tourette Association of America (TAA)

The Tourette Association of American is the foremost nonprofit organization providing support and services to improve the lives of people affected by Tourette Syndrome, Tic Disorders and co-occurring conditions. The TAA is internationally renowned for its leadership in developing a wide range of medical and scientific programs and is the largest non-governmental source of research grants for TS and Tic Disorders. Having launched its first 5-year strategic plan this past
50th anniversary year, the TAA is looking for an individual who will provide leadership and direction during a critical time in the organization’s development. Must have a passion for our cause and a commitment to the work we do.

Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as Program Coordinator.

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing basic to moderate range program coordination and will work with internal and external parties to implement and evaluate programs including webinars, workshops, and training seminars. She/he will work closely with TAA Program Leads and staff in the planning of target goals and action steps for assigned projects. This position can work out of the Association’s Bayside, NY office or in a remote capacity.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with research for professional education programs nationwide on TS for physicians, and allied health professionals.
  • Engage with appropriate program presenters and contributors, as well as other key stakeholders, regarding activities and program content including at times moderate evening webinars.
  • Coordinate the planning, logistics and details for medical presentations, CBIT workshops, webinars and workforce development programs.
  • Respond to requests, maintain accurate and up to date documentation, and review applications for key programs such as online support groups and workforce development.
  • Ensure accurate data collection and management, database management, and minute taking for meetings.
  • Facilitate submitting marketing requests for programs and events.
  • Maintain any email list servs and respond to emails.
  • Participate in regular department meetings to share updates in program processes and impact.
  • Prepare and track check requests for programs and expenses.
  • All other duties as may be required by the position or by the TAA.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and think critically.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a professional setting required.
  • Strong community awareness and astuteness, interest in public health, a charitable mindset, and an ability to communicate this passion and empathy to others.
  • Proficiency with software platforms, and an ability to learn new platforms, including

Microsoft Office, Zoom, Teams, and Go To Webinar

  • Experience in, data collection, entry, and analysis.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with an ability to engage and inspire a wide range of audiences.
  • Ability to build relationships within and outside the organization.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, including use of own car.
  • Some assignments may include work hours during the evening and on weekends.
  • This position may require travel locally and nationally.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
