Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Assistant for the Department of Psychiatric Rehabilitation & Counseling Professions within the School of Health Professions. Under direction, the Program Assistant assists with the development, implementation and monitoring of activities within the Center for Comprehensive School Mental Health (CCSMH). The Program Assistant provides administrative and program support to the Principal Investigator, Director, faculty, and professional staff.

- Prepares reports and official correspondence on behalf of the CCSMH. Responds to inquiries as directed and distributes informational materials according to University policy and practice.
- Supports the preparation of grant proposals by gathering and organizing documents, produces tables and spreadsheets for inclusion, and uploads documents in grant submission software.
- Coordinates fiscal procedures and maintains records associated with grant accounts and state budgets in coordination with Department’s grant manager.
- Tracks budgets for programs and ensures funds are utilized according to policy and regulations.
- Responsible for coordinating CCSMH events calendar, including trainings, webinars, technical assistance meetings, etc., and securing needed supports (e.g., IT support, parking, event locations).
- Identifies vendors for technical services, furniture, equipment, and supplies. Researches major purchases and makes recommendations for purchases.
- Oversees payment for travel and meeting expenses.

Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Social Science or a related discipline, plus one (1) year of related experience in a business office, government agency or university setting required.
- Applicants lacking the degree may substitute appropriate related experience on a year-for-year basis.

Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees, Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
