POSITION: Professional Pet Sitter/Dog Walker - Ham Lake (10AM-2PM - Candidates 35+ Are Encouraged to Apply!)

STATUS: Part-Time, Contractor

BUSINESS OVERVIEW: Julie The Pet Nanny, LLC offers pet owners a personalized, flexible and safe alternative to boarding, kenneling or calling upon family or friends to care for their pets. Pet Sitters travel to a client's home to provide dog walking, in-home visits or overnight pet sitting services to primarily dogs and cats, but may also care for other animals such as birds, caged pets, farm animals or fish. COMPENSATION, FREQUENCY & DUTIES:

Dog Walking & In-Home Visits

· Compensation: $13.00 per 35-45 minute assignment, or an average hourly pay rate of $16.00-$19.00/hr.

· Frequency: 1-3 days, Monday-Friday for 2-4 hours (primarily) between the hours of 10AM–3PM, and 2-4 hours one weekend (minimum) a month. Early morning (8AM) or evening (after 5PM) assignments are occasionally required.

· Duties (Dog Walking): Neighborhood dog walks/back yard exercise, poo collection/clean up, wiping paws, refreshing water and giving treats. Must be comfortable performing duties if client is home ill or working from home.

· Duties (In-Home Visits): Performed for clients on vacation or traveling for business. Primarily cat care, consisting of one visit per day with a flexible arrival timeframe. Feeding pets, providing TLC and playtime, cleaning up any messes and scooping litter boxes and disposing of waste. Other household duties include mail and newspaper retrieval, setting out trash cans and light houseplant watering if requested by the client.

Overnight Sitting (optional service offered by JPN, but not a requirement of the position)

· Compensation: $50.00 per overnight. Sitter arrives between 5-6PM, sleeps overnight at the client’s home and then leaves between 8-9AM.

· Frequency: Overnight assignments may be for one or multiple clients, averaging a total of 1-5 evening stays at a client’s house once a month.

· Duties: Following a client’s pet(s) routine which includes, but is not limited to, feeding, affection and exercise, along with any clean up (i.e. litterboxes and yard poo) or pet health and well-being (i.e. medication administration).

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be a true pet lover, dependable, responsible, reliable, trustworthy, professional and comfortable interacting with other team members, pet owners and the general public.

· **Important**: Must have a very flexible schedule with limited reoccurring commitments, as pet care assignments vary continuously. Must be dedicated to completing every pet care assignment and extremely reliable. Unplanned absences or last-minute changes in schedules will not be tolerated.

· This is NOT a temporary or seasonal position. Seeking only candidates who are available year-round and interested in a long-term opportunity.

· Must be at least 21 years of age, with individuals over the age of 35 encouraged to apply.

· **Important**: Interested candidates MUST be accustomed to spending time regularly outdoors and occasionally in less than desirable weather conditions. This position is NOT for those who cannot tolerate being outside or driving in inclement weather conditions such as extreme heat or cold, heavy rain, snow/ice, etc.

· Must have reliable and in excellent working condition transportation, along with readily available backup transportation options, which will function in ALL weather conditions including heavy rain, snow and extreme heat or cold, with the appropriate automobile insurance coverage(s).

· Must have a cell phone for texting with supervisor and team members, and creating excellent pet photos for client updates.

· Only considering candidates who reside in or are within 5-10 miles from Coon Rapids, Blaine, Lino Lakes or Shoreview. Pet care assignments will occur (primarily) in or around these areas.

· Must be willing to consider all types, lengths and frequency of assignments.

· Must be in very good physical condition to perform the requirements of the job which include, but are not limited to bending, walking and lifting up to 50 lbs.

· Must be physically able to walk/handle ALL breeds, weights and sizes of dogs.

· A full background check will be performed prior to hire.

· Must have excellent penmanship, spelling and grammatical skills, as brief, client visit notes are required at every assignment.
