PALFINGER is seeking a strong Production Weld Supervisor candidate familiar with working in a plant environment to join the team and work out of our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Council Bluffs, IA. Job Summary

This position will work with other supervisors to ensure timely delivery of parts and schedule attainment. In addition, the supervisor will work with all departments within the facility to effectively manage the production line. Also, responsible for sustainable results through continuous skills and development of employees. This role reports to the Production Manager, offering a competitive compensation package and opportunity for ongoing career growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Deep knowledge of welding and cutting processes
  • Experience operating and setting multiple types of welding equipment
  • Experience with welding in either a manufacturing, construction, fabrication or pipe industry
  • Knowledge of welding on different types of metal
  • Train and coach production line employees
  • Responsible for shift schedule to include workstation assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, overtime assignment and backup for absent supervisors
  • Ability to meet operational and cost goals
  • Create and update training documents, inspection documents, operator preventative maintenance documents
  • Project work and project management
  • Coordinate a successful implementation of manufacturing excellence
  • Ability to accomplish staff results by coaching, mentoring, counseling, training and disciplining employees
  • Implements and enforces systems, policies, and procedures
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Other duties and roles as assigned by the Manager

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, college education preferred
  • Supervisor experience with five or more employees in a manufacturing environment
  • Weld experience required
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word) Proficient
  • Excellent communication skills
  • LEAN Manufacturing experience preferred
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees
