Weyerhaeuser is currently recruiting for a Production Supervisor in our New Bern, NC Sawmill. As Production Supervisor, you will be a role model in our safety standards and on-the-job behavior by living our core principles of integrity, fairness, creating a positive work environment, and ensuring open communication among associates. Responsibilities also include ensuring compliance with all applicable Weyerhaeuser, federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Key Functions:

Developing and leading team meetings and trainings

Identifying safety, quality and production issues

Coordinating activities with the maintenance team, and taking measures to proactively address all concerns.

Leading the team by proactively resolving employee issues, building team work, and ensuring adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- At least three years of leadership experience
- Work related experience in leading and ensuring compliance with safety initiatives
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and other Windows-based programs
- Willing and able to work nights and weekends, should business needs require
- Strong work ethic
- Good judgment and decision making skills
- Proven ability to improve performance by building and maintaining positive relationships with all associates through coaching, development and instilling a continuous improvement mind-set
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in related field preferred
- Work related experience in a production and/or manufacturing environment
- Lumber or Wood products experience
