Haydon corporation is a premier manufacturer of metal framing strut, rooftop supports, and baseboard heating systems. Our H-Strut metal framing and rooftop systems provide the construction industry with solutions providing anchorage to building structures and other support applications. Our Baseboard heating systems provide convenient economic heating solutions for residential and commercial spaces.

What You Will Do:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for developing and maintaining a high-performance safety culture in a lean manufacturing environment. Lead and empower teams to drive safe work practices, continuous improvement of our resource base, work and information flow in order to meet or exceed the team’s safety, quality, cost and delivery performance.

This is currently a Monday - Friday 2nd shift position (1:00pm - 9:30pm).
After January 9 2023 the company will be switching to a 4 day work week,
Monday - Thursday & work 4 10 hour shifts. Also, candidates must be available to occasionally work Friday’s & Saturday if the Team falls behind.

  • Model and embed our core value to Stay Safe and put the health and well-being of our teams first.
  • Drive quality improvements, provide premier customer service, develop a qualified workforce, reduce operating costs, inventories, and lead times through continuous improvements.
  • Oversee day-to-day activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual expectations.
  • Create a continuous improvement culture by reflecting on problems, solutions, and challenges. Lead team in daily operations and continuous improvements, including production control, manufacturing priorities, and monitoring productivity.
  • Assist the Plant Manager to create continuous product flow, utilize pull systems, and level the workload. Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized work and processes are followed, needed adjustments are implemented and the area is compliant with safety and 5S requirements.
  • Instill and maintain a positive atmosphere within the team; hold regular team meetings and assign team member tasks and coordinate support activities from departments outside of the team.
  • Utilize PDCA in conjunction with Visual Management Boards and Team Improvement Boards to ensure results.
  • Provide effective cross training to ensure the continuous smooth running of the team.
  • Encourage team to stop and fix problems in order to get quality right the first time. Work with the Plant Manager to develop the future state value stream map and manage the plans to achieve it as documented.
  • Partner with other plant teams to maintain Team Improvement Boards. A visually controlled environment ensures that no problems are hidden.

You also have:

  • Associates or related technical degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred experience.
  • 5 years supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership capability, modeling safety, innovation, and positive change.
  • Working knowledge of and experience with Lean principles and practices.
  • Some experience in accounting, manufacturing, human resource management, and inventory control.
  • Great computer skills, Microsoft Office. Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint
  • ERP Software experience, Macola, SAP
  • Demonstrated teamwork and teambuilding skills.
  • Ability to assess and develop individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for challenges.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual English & Spanish preferred.
