Basic Purpose

Responsible for scheduling department production orders to ensure all orders are filled in accordance with ship time, sales orders, and load times. The position is the key interface between the plant production and distribution. This position calculates the production needed on a daily basis by reviewing the orders, inventory on hand and production capacity to ensure the product is made to each order within the delivery date required. This position must review the shipping schedule, processing schedule, WIP inventory, finished goods inventory and then plan the production ensuring the proper shelf life required by each customer and each order is met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Consolidate the production orders for all processing departments and distribute them to the processing managers. This includes the sell by dates required, the time the product needs to be produced, and any other instructions including product pricing.
• Reviews and manages all the WIP inventory and work with production supervisors to ensure the accuracy of the WIP inventory and utilization of on hand supply.
• Interfaces with production schedule and analysts, plant manager, and complex manager on order fill and any production issues that may cause the need to modify or change any deliveries.
• Reviews daily production records for the accounting department for accuracy.
• Analyzes daily and weekly production for the plant management team.
• Knowledgeable of all product codes and CAT 2 scaling system.
• Notifies the Production Assistant of any changes or new product specifications.
• Logs and tracks the incoming weights of outside supplier raw material.
• Watches daily aging inventory of finished goods and directs shipping if product is aged or shipped out of rotation.
• Helps production and QA with any product recall and tracking as needed.
• Works directly with Production Scheduler and Production Analysts to answer label and weigh price questions as well as sending to customers for review and approval.
• Reviews the long-term processing schedule and updates management on long term capacity and production.
• Ensure and participate in compliance measures to meet GMP, HACCP, SQF and federal standards related to food safety and quality guidelines.
• Perform other related responsibilities, as needed, to support Plainville Farms business objectives.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Interfaces with sales, senior management, plant management, QA, accountings, shipping, customer service and live production on a daily basis.
• Communicate and direct plant production on needed production.
• Communicate production failures and issues to plant management.
• Supervises accounting clerks on production reports and product code set up.
• Facilitates problem resolution between sales and production.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Bachelor's degree in Poultry Science, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience working in a poultry setting. 2 years proven experience in poultry plant management or other manufacturing

• Ability to organize, plan, and complete work in a timely fashion

• Willingness and ability to learn and perform all of the jobs in the department
