JOB DESCRIPTION

Mohawk Wood & Laminate division is looking for a passionate and driven Production Manager to lead our Press Department. The Production Manager needs to have an entrepreneurial spirit and desire to Innovate, Create, and Grow with us. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for providing proactive leadership within a highly automated, high speed manufacturing plant. You will help ensure that all plant goals and objectives around key performance indicators (KPI) of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People are met/exceeded by driving daily continuous improvements throughout the manufacturing process by consistently tracking the appropriate measures and driving appropriate response behaviors with a sense of urgency.

Major Functions/Scope:

• Responsible to ensure that the department meets safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
• Implements solutions to prevent re-occurrence of production and quality problems.
• Maintains and develops necessary process documentation and specifications to continually improve the process.
• Assists with qualification and non-conformance process of new existing vendors as required.
• Identifies, defines, and measures improvement opportunities by analyzing production data.
• Identifies and executes cost-saving projects in the department.
• Provides weekly production reports as needed to track and improve targeted areas.
• Motivates, builds, and educates your team through hands-on interactions on the production floor.
• Establishes and maintains a culture of continuous improvement, top quality, high performance and process excellence.
• Ensures adherence to and facilitates employee training and compliance with all company safety rules and procedures.
• Maintains a “Safety First” mentality that stimulates and cultivates a “zero-incident” mentality throughout the department through employee engagement
• Performs other duties as required

Knowledge/Experience/Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required
• 5-7 years manufacturing experience within a process industry is preferred
• Experience in a high speed, highly automated manufacturing plant
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills to perform calculations, interpret data, and adapt known methods or operating concepts to new situations; must be detail-oriented
• Strong presentation skills (oral and written) and strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of management, internal and external business contacts

• Ability to anticipate future business needs, identifying, analyzing, and resolving business issues through solution-oriented projects in a cross-functional environment
• Demonstrated ability to perform strategic planning, team building, and operations excellence

Other Pertinent Job Information:

• Must be able to work in high-traffic production floor environment as well as a regular office environment
• Must be able to walk long distances, stand for long periods; bending, crouching, and stooping may be required
• May be required to work a flexible schedule to include some evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as being on call for maintenance-related emergencies in Press Department
