Position Title: Production Control Specialist
Location: Denton, TX
Reports To: Area Supervisor
Shift: 1st shift
Pay Grade – DH06

Job Summary:
This position leads the Expedite crew and is responsible for coordinating movement of specific expedited orders through production to meet quality standards and shipping deadlines. Update and publish daily and weekly production reports. Control customer and plant over dues. Organize and follow-up on each order until shipped. Must have a complete understanding of the production workflow and quality requirements. Resolves issues on shop copies between the Manufacturing and Customer Service departments via telephone conversations or the use of e-mail. Issues include tooling, stone, engraving, special instructions and other information. Organizes information from Customer Service regarding special delivery dates and presentations and updates manufacturing on a regular basis. Tags and enters orders onto a spreadsheet to allow for ease in expediting orders through the shop. Works with Customer Service and manufacturing teams to find and explain where and why orders have stalled in the manufacturing process and get them completed. May be called upon to assist Warranty team with expedites as needed.
Uses a desktop computer, AS400, Oracle, and mainframe system to research and resolve issues related to Order Entry, Customer Service, and the shop floor. Responsible for other jobs as assigned by Supervisor.
Job Specifications:
  • Excellent computer skills Outlook, Excel, Word, Oracle, AS400 and mainframe experience
  • Must be able to read and understand all information on shop paper; experience in reading information on prefills
  • Must be able to visually check product for compliance with quality standards and customer specifications
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Experience in resolving issues across functional lines of an organization
  • Complete understanding of all customer order flows
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills are needed.
  • Must have understanding of process flow in multiple departments in the manufacturing process
  • 70% of day walking, 30% of day using computer and phones
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to include overtime
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Ability to effectively manage a team in a diverse and high demand environment.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years manufacturing experience is required.
  • Must possess problem-solving skills.
