Under the direction of the Production Accounting Manager, gather, maintain and audit oil and gas production data using various software applications and databases so that all production data is provided accurately and timely to internal departments, regulatory agencies, and third parties requiring information.
Responsibilities:
- Track production of crude oil and natural gas from separate leases using P2 Production Accounting System (P2)
- Manage data outputs from P2 according to company needs.
- Audit production of crude oil and natural gas well tests, NGL’s, well downtime, and daily production
- Maintain P2 to allocate gas and oil production to individual production entities on daily and monthly basis
- Monitor daily and monthly production volumes with P2
- Import/Update and trouble-shoot non-operated production data
- Communicates with field users, office staff, and area managers regarding exceptions on regular basis
- Gather monthly sales data for allocation and preparation for accounting accruals
- Work with Revenue to ensure that units are properly booked
- Deliver accurate Month-to-Date and Week-over-Week production volumes on weekly basis
- File State and Federal regulatory reports for production, as required
- Performs purchaser statement reconciliation on monthly basis
- Perform variance analysis for production data, downtime, and well tests
- Troubleshoot allocation and reporting issues
- Bachelor degree in information systems or related technical/scientific/business discipline
- Equivalent combination of education and experience (Preferred)
- Certificate in related technical/scientific/business discipline
- Typically at least 12 years’ experience in oil and gas, accounting, or related industry
- Proven knowledge of production accounting practices
- Familiarity in working with multiple departments to resolve issues and implement solutions
- Demonstrated ability in numerical/quantitative analysis, financial models and reports
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Experience working with production data software systems and databases
- Detail-oriented and able to manage a fast-paced environment where special projects or multiple tasks may be required
- Efficient management of priorities and deadlines
- Skilled in trouble-shooting varied system and software issues
- Able to provide training to end-users in the field and office
- Advance user Merrick P2 Software Suite (eVin, ProCount, Carte, ad PetroRegs)
