Job Summary:

Packsize is seeking a Product Safety Specialist who will support the consistent implementation of the organization’s Product Safety Compliance programs. This position will ensure Packsize products adhere to regulatory machine safeguarding regulations, such as ISO 12100, ANSI B11.0, ANSI B11.19, and OSHA 1910. The Product Safety Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and performing risk assessments and verifying mitigation plans to achieve the highest level of control measures throughout all stages of the product from design through the operator interface.

This position requires working knowledge of safety standards and regulations and a continuous improvement mindset. This person must be able to collaborate effectively both onsite and remotely, with a variety of team members across a wide range of functions, including quality, engineering, R&D, operations, suppliers, and customers.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work closely work with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the completion and revision of risk assessment of Packsize products throughout the products’ lifecycle.

• Tracks and verifies identified risks and associated mitigation plans to verify they achieve the highest level of control measures to meet applicable regulatory requirements and Packsize’s acceptable risk levels.

• Ensures the timely and accurate creation of product safety compliance documentation.

• Works closely with the Safety Technician to ensure nonconformances related to product safety have timely mitigation measures and ensure compliant corrective actions.

• Support the EHS Specialist with Job Hazards Analysis (JHA) creation for JHAs directly related to product safety.

• Performs various safety audits in support of continuous improvement of the Packsize Product Safety Compliance program, including product certification processes.

Job Specific Competencies:

• A seasoned, experienced professional with a depth of understanding of product safety compliance and risk assessment, specifically related to ISO 12100 Machine Safety and ANSI B11.0-2020 Safety of Machinery and other machine safeguarding standards.

• Have a working understanding of risk mitigation measures and the hierarchy of controls to ensure we achieve the lowest risk levels.

• Mechanically inclined with a basic understanding of industrial machinery.

• Demonstrate professional verbal and written communication skills.

• Process-focused with the ability to help build and continuously improve the company’s product safety program.

• Comfortable networking with senior internal and external team members.

• 4-8 years of demonstrated experience in the safety arena, preferably in product safety.
