Our Role:

The Fixed Income Product Manager will report to the Vice President of Product Management for PGIM Investments. The Product Manager will be responsible for accurately and effectively positioning the PGIM Investments fixed income product line based on information from PGIM Fixed Income, external news sources, internally run data, feedback from sales, and other sources. This position will work closely with various business units within Prudential including PGIM Fixed Income, Product Management, Competitor Analytics, Marketing, Product Development, Sales, Compliance, Legal and Fund Administration.


Your Impact:

  • Act as an advocate for the fixed income product line. Know PGIM Fixed Income’s strategies, how to navigate the firm, how to attain information, and develop processes for effective communication.
  • Proactively and reactively generate analytical data that can support product positioning.
  • Respond to sales inquiries in a timely manner (answer questions, provide data, etc.)
  • Create & update fund presentations and fund positioning documents.
  • Responsible for reviewing others work to ensure accuracy and message consistency.
  • Proactively identify issues impacting the fixed impact product line and recommend next steps/solutions.
  • Legally required work – Review shareholder reports and prospectuses, 15(c) peer reviews, capital gains distributions, etc.
  • Monitor capital markets, trade publications, flows, performance, portfolio characteristics and competitive landscape.
  • Assist with competitive analysis and positioning points.
  • Work with internal groups on the structure and positioning of new products.
  • Train new hires on the basics of the product line and current employees on new products, product changes, etc.
  • Provide strategic direction for the fixed income product line. Review existing fixed income product line and recommend changes/enhancements where applicable. e.g., pricing, benchmark, portfolio managers, strategy, and investment limits.
  • Respond to special requests from Senior Management.

Your Required Skills:

  • Bachelors degree required. CFA or CIMA designation preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in investment product management; strong preference for prior fixed income product management experience
  • Series 7 license preferred; must be capable of obtaining licensing within 120 days if not currently held.
  • Strong PC skills (including general software and industry databases such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Lipper, FactSet, Barclays Live, Morningstar Direct, LANA, Bloomberg, etc.).

Your Desired Skills:

  • Strong fixed income knowledge with ability to articulate complex concepts to audiences with varying degrees of investment acumen.
  • Understanding of financial markets, investment concepts, styles, and issues.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with and work with the PGIM Investments Sales and Marketing teams.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and complete projects on a timely basis.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to establish and maintain effective, cooperative working relationships with all departments and organizational levels.

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations.

The salary range for this role is from $110,000 to $160,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.

Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits.

Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
