SUMMARY: Florexpo/Kendal Floral the largest importer of fresh-cut floral products in the western United States, seeks a Procurement Manager for it location in Carlsbad, CA. This position plans, directs, or coordinates the activities of buyers, purchasing officers, and related workers involved in purchasing materials,

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Represents companies in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers.

· Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies.

· Interviewss and hire staff and oversee staff training.

· Locates vendors of materials, equipment, or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales.

· Prepares and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.

· Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.

· Prepares bid awards requiring board approval.ived.

· Prepare bid awards requiring board approval.

· Analyzes market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.

· Resolves vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers.

· Controls purchasing department budgets.

· Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.

· Administers online purchasing systems.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Carries out supervisory responsibilities (3 employees) in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in related field and 5-year analytical experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of work and education.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.

· Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to read, interpret, and explain policies and procedures used in purchasing.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
