Overview

The Procurement Analyst will perform data management for procurement activities to strengthen the ability to build category management plans, execute projects, and realize the benefits of savings initiatives. The core tasks of this position will focus on regular reporting of spend data from a variety of sources, contract management, maintenance of the vendor master and contact information, and production of Key Performance Indicators such as spend compliance.

The Procurement Analyst will possess a high attention to detail as well as the ability to perform structured and unstructured data analysis. Strong communication skills are needed as routine interaction with vendors, internal operations teams, and senior leaders is required.

Essential Functions

  • Provide insight & strategic analysis of spend categories and opportunities for leverage across the WPG portfolio.
  • Be the authority on analysis, budgeting/forecasting guidance, proactive communication for identified key spend accounts within the overall portfolio. This includes working with VP, Procurement and assisting with preparing the necessary financial analysis related to proposed savings initiatives, updating data throughout the negotiation process and providing strategic updates to Senior Management. Ad-hoc analysis will be required as the business evolves.
  • Develop expertise in the flow of data within and across systems to design reporting procedures that ensure accuracy and consistency over time.
  • Assist in the design and development of sourcing and supplier performance templates including governance of the process to establish a cadence for supplier and stakeholder management.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests and questions related to budget, forecast, spend and contract information.
  • Assit in the process of executing and managing service contracts.
  • Become the subject matter expert on bid management, procurement policy, and document management to ensure visibility and compliance with policies and best practices.
  • Participate in ad hoc vendor meetings to ensure understanding of agreements by both parties
  • Regular, predictable attendance

  • Performs other duties as required.

Skills and Abilities

  • Self-starter willing to adapt as business needs change while developing operational frameworks and adapting standards over time as business processes are refined.
  • Intermediate to advanced level in Excel including but not limited to detailed equations, comparative analysis, and pivot tables.
  • Ability to manage others through influence and building relationships
  • Shows curiosity and initiative to drive continuous improvement
  • Ability to see the big picture and work with a team to prioritize requests
  • Ability to take initiative, work flexibly, and collaborate with cross functional partners
  • Strong customer service focus, written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment

Qualifications, Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Relevant experience in lieu of degree considered
