Roll Forming Process Engineer

SUMMARY:
The Engineer will design, assemble, and develop roll form tooling by utilizing engineering principles to design, and perform testing, troubleshooting, and repair company equipment, tools, or processes. Our client is willing to train individuals and teach them how to use roll-forming machines (metal-forming machines) and the extrusion processes.

Generate drawings, schematics, and specifications to troubleshoot specific problems, make adjustments to equipment, tools, and /or processes, confers with appropriate personnel, and make necessary recommendations concerning solutions to problems regarding the stainless steel roll forming process, or extrusion process. The position requires considerable judgment to work independently in the analysis of facts and in the determination of actions to be taken guided by precedent and within the limits of established policy. The Engineer works under direction requiring the use of a wide range of procedures and referring unusual cases to their supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties may entail regular contact with other departments, furnishing or obtaining information, analyzing and reporting scrap, and reporting faulty equipment, discrepant materials, and/or unusual conditions to appropriate personnel. May participate in planning, design, fabrication, and production of new products and perform other related duties as required or directed.
  • Design and develop production roll-forming equipment and processes.
  • Design tooling in roll forming specific CAD software (Solidworks) or UBECO.
  • Supports the production department.
  • Utilization of engineering principles to perform testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on company equipment, tools, and/or processes.
  • Make adjustments to equipment, tools, and/or processes confers with appropriate personnel, and make recommendations concerning solutions to problems.
  • Participation in planning, design, fabrication, and production of new products.
  • Maintenance of production roll-forming tools, equipment, and processes.
  • Set-up, adjustment, and polishing of roll-forming tools.
  • Troubleshoot and correct marks on class A surface from roll form machine during production.
  • Responds to issues online to prevent downtime and correct problems as needed.
  • Responds to breakdowns and repairs, working with other departments as needed.
