Our Grenada location in Mississippi, United States is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Process Engineer. This job is permanent, full-time.

Provide professional engineering support and services in the analysis, planning, and control of manufacturing process. Provide technical support for the identification, measurement and control of process variation in all operating areas. Provide support to departments for execution of process studies. Improve and refine existing processes. Demonstrate leadership in development and implementation of cost optimization and operating performance improvements. Develop new and unique applications, patents, processes, and/or equipment. Support the OPX process to help achieve mill goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead safety efforts in the mill including safety meetings and safety training. Actively participate in the mill’s Safety Action plan and Safety Advocacy Process. Ensure environmental and quality compliance.
  • Work independently with full technical responsibility for initiating, planning, and implementing solutions to technical problems or matters.
  • Prepare budget items, appropriation request, and monitor spending associated with capital projects.
  • Work with contractors providing professional engineering services. Effectively communicate with department employees, peers, and direct supervision. Be involved in the planning and execution of outages. During major projects may act as a team leader.
  • Provide on-call coverage and availability.
  • Review all operating data related to previous day’s performance to assure satisfactory and efficient operations, pinpoint problem area, anticipate possible operating problems, and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Review, recommend, plan and schedule actions that will improve mill operations based on safety, efficiency, cost, reliability, and requirements.

Knowledge and Experience

  • B.S. degree or higher in Pulp and Paper, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Strong analytical abilities and good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • High level of accountability.
  • Engineering knowledge of functions and application, to include: monitoring SPC control charts; use of OSI PI system; ISO certification and Six Sigma tools.
  • Requires strong analytical ability, decisiveness, and computer skills.
  • A creative thinker with a positive mind set.
