PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Kankakee Flooring Plant team has a job opportunity for Process Analyst located in Kankakee, IL. With direction from the Manufacturing Manager, this position has product and process control responsibilities for the Kankakee Plant Commercial Lines operation as it applies to problem solving, OEE improvements and continuous improvement efforts. The incumbent will monitor the day- to - day execution of the operations plan, track losses, work with Supervisors and hourly Leads and Operators to identify root cause and implement corrective action. Will assist in optimization of Production Schedule and work closely with Maintenance to document and track equipment performance. process indicators. This position reports to the Manufacturing Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Support and model the Kankakee Plant safety process.
  • Reviews the weekly order requirements from the Logistics Manager and works with Supervisor to maximize integrated operation; optimize preventive maintenance activities and planned maintenance repairs.
  • Reviews order and production schedules for possible revisions which will better meet customer demand in the event of production interruptions.
  • Coordinates with Maintenance and Engineering Manager to direct maintenance activities required to maintain integrated manufacturing operations by establishing priorities of maintenance items. Meets daily with maintenance supervisors to improve the manufacturing line efficiency. Coordinates and schedules OPM’s and other preventative or predictive maintenance to be performed routinely.
  • Facilitates down time planning sessions to optimize efficiency to support production needs and customer service requirements. Serves as primary link between operations and maintenance group for communication and identification of issues.
  • Supports the supervisor in developing training requirements and plans for optimal operating costs.
  • Monitors daily production and downtime reports to ensure compliance to objectives. Tours operations daily to observe process problems pointed out through daily crew meetings. Works closely with supervisors to validate production reporting and resolve discrepancies.
  • Investigates more serious or complex production problems and develops plan plans to maximize productivity opportunities in manufacturing .
  • Perform tasks in accordance with proven skill levels as directed by Manufacturing Manager.
  • Leads Continuous Improvement efforts working with Supervisors, Leads and hourly Operators.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams with different opinions to gain consensus on the correct strategy.
  • Proven ability to recognize potential safety hazards and work with Engineering to develop a solution to eliminate.
  • Proven ability to visualize an equipment process future state and formulate and execute the plan to successfully transform from current state.
  • Ability to work self-directed with limited resources and able to meet challenging timelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence upper management and gain buy in from shop floor end users.
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to always maintain appropriate confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening
  • Positive and Verifiable Work History
  • BS / BA degree in an Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred, but not required.
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience preferably in a continuous process environment.
  • Lean / Six Sigma certification preferred.
