As a Printing Plant Worker (Secure Credentials), you will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing other agencies with innovative services for the printing, publishing, storage, and distribution of digital content.

GPO is located in Washington, D.C. just blocks from the U.S. Capitol and one block from Union Station which is a mixed-use, intermodal transportation and shopping center serviced by MARC, VRE, Amtrak, and Metro Red Line trains.

Responsibilities included:

• Performs content verification, carton assembly and security of shipments. Sets-up, operates and makes user adjustments to the shipment label printer.

• Receives secured "work-in-process" materials from various sources, and verifies the integrity of the cartons, seals and contents.

• Documents and reports overages, shortages, and damages. Verifies and records quantities and number sequences of all cartons assembled for shipment.

• Directs or assists in loading and unloading cargo and checks to see that loads are properly distributed and secured. Monitors all deliveries to/from the platform assuring that security controls are in place.

• Leads a lower graded employee in preparing cartons for shipment; loads cartons into secured transport cages of cartons/from loading dock.
