PTE is catalyzing the global development and execution of PT’s Digital and Operational Excellence strategy to enable PT to realize our performance promises. Be an Architect, Catalyst, & Coach

The Principal Operational Excellence Partner is key in integrating Lean with Digital & Analytics methodologies & solutions. The position will act as a thought partner on relentlessly challenging the status quo for sustainable improvements and will challenge leaders on the progress in their unit.

Serve as an architect of the PT Digital & OE strategy:

  • Closely collaborate with the Site / Functional Leadership teams in respective geography and global OE communities across PT and identify and prioritize improvement opportunities

  • Integrate OE with cutting edge Digital & Analytics Technologies & Solutions and architect a joint roadmap within the OE & Digital community

  • Accountable for integrating OE with cutting edge Digital & Analytics Technologies & Solutions

  • Educate and influence site/global function Leaders, and LT teams on analyzing their current situation and identifying proper OE/Lean and digital measures to drive outcomes along our PT performance promises

Serve as a catalyst by removing roadblocks and prioritizing to create clarity and focus:

  • Serve as a partner and expert to support / challenge key decision making on site / global functions regarding driving breakthrough initiatives

  • Responsible and accountable for the delivery of improvement initiatives on site/ global functions, combining OE and Digital methodologies and tools, and delivering value for our business and our patients

  • Ability to articulate a broader vision (future state of OE), set and align bold improvement aspiration with senior site and global functions stakeholders

  • Monitor performance dashboards, understand underlying drivers of performance and work with production and other stakeholders to drive sustainable results

  • Promote, maintain and further improve the Lean as the way of working and ensure global OE programs for gaining skills and capabilities mainly driven by practice

  • Evaluate and establish the appropriate (Lean) processes and related systemic improvements

  • Serves as a thought leader to challenge the status quo and propose constantly leaner way of working

Serve as coach in the network:

  • Coach production manager and area manager on how to role model VACC and Lean Leadership for their teams

  • Help everyone in the network build the skills and mindset needed to succeed

  • Serve as a digital translator to create a broader and more unified digital community

  • Create mutual understanding of the needs (and obstacles that must be overcome) by engaging with Value Stream Leads and MU/ Global Functional OE Heads

  • Routinely engage with senior leadership teams to provide updates on progress and additionally identify, address and implement required change management (change and communication)

  • Align with other Operational Excellence Partners, ensuring consistency and alignment of the designed solutions

  • Apply a growth mindset - be curious and open to learn new skills

  • Strong communicator, with experience in working with senior management

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong desire to work in cross functional teams

  • Positive attitude to thrive in a fun, fast-paced start-up like environment

  • Brings a high-energy and passionate outlook to the role and has strong sense of ownership

Qualifications & Competencies

  • MBA, M.Sc. or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred

  • 12+ years of experience in Operational Excellence, Lean Manufacturing

  • Professional experience within the biotechnology/pharmaceutical chemical or other process related industries (e.g. manufacturing, supply chain, quality, etc.) Multidisciplinary experience is strongly preferred

  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in OE/ Lean methods, tools and application of same environment

  • Ability to influence and challenge stakeholder to support the implementation of OE solutions, to coordinate various stakeholders and adhere to timelines, delivering solutions that create business value

  • Strong system and analytical thinking skills to bring holistic business perspective

  • Strong leadership attributes as well as experience in change management in particular supporting sustainable behavioral change.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $141,190 min and max of $262,210 hiring range. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
