CACI is seeking a marine scale model testing subject matter expert to support design, development, construction, and testing of scale models used for hydrodynamic testing. This position is part time and will be based onsite in Bethesda, MD.

More About the Role:

• Support development of both Captive Models and Free Running Models of marine craft for hydrodynamic testing

• Development includes design and implementation of electrical and mechanical systems for these scale models.

• Development also includes selection of control surfaces, propellers, data acquisition systems, and other systems and components as needed

• Identify scale model test objectives and ensure scale model alignment with these objectives

• Provide subject matter expertise to ensure scale model test execution success

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering

• 25 years of experience conducting hydrodynamic model scale testing

• Experience designing and developing scale models of marine craft

• Expert knowledge in sensors and dynamometry for collection of test data

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering

• Experience interfacing scale model craft to hydrodynamic test facility hardware such as water tunnels, tow tanks, and wave pools

• Specific experience with Kistler 6-axis force/moment sensors

• Specific experience and expertise with scale model submarine development and testing
