The Naval Nuclear Laboratory comprises the U.S. Department of Energy locations and personnel responsible for developing advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology, providing technical support to ensure the safety and reliability of our nation’s naval nuclear reactors, and training the Sailors who operate those reactors in the U.S. Navy’s submarines and aircraft carrier Fleets. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory includes the Bettis and Knolls Atomic Power Laboratories, the Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and the Naval Reactors Facility which have proudly supported the nation since 1946. The Kesselring Site (KS) Safety and Health Auditor provides compliance oversite by conducting surveillances, audits, assessments, and evaluations on all required functional areas. Work shall include providing interface, independent oversight, and assessment of the company, subcontractors, and vendor facility operations. This position is required to identify, document and report findings contrary to Safety Requirements Manual (SRM) to key stakeholders, executive management, and Naval Reactor (NR). Aid in both sitewide assessments and evaluations. Lastly, the successful candidate will be required to participate in the KS Emergency Response Organization and provide input and perspective for KS self-assessments. Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering or science-related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of nine years of relevant experience or; Master's degree in a degree in a technical, engineering or science-related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of seven years of relevant experience or; Currently or previously Shift Supervisor Part II qualified or qualified SIT and three years as EOOW in the Nuclear Operations Program or

  • Previous auditing experience
