What success looks like in this role:

Principal Citrix Architect

The Principal Architect role focuses on the design, creation, lifecycle, a readiness of Solutions in their area. The role will work closely with the Solution Managers who manage how Unisys takes our offerings to the market. A Principal Architect will create reference architecture of how the Unisys Solution will integrated into our clients environment. A deep understanding of how these solutions will be secured and privacy is maintained is also required.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Technology Leadership
• A solution driver who has a passion for demonstrating continuous learning by proactively expanding technical depth in products, solutions, and services, particularly in the Microsoft ,Citrix, and VMware spaces.
• Operates with the perspective and insight that business needs, not just technology, establish the limits on what can be achieved.
• Designs technical solutions, focused in the Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop/Citrix / Vmware Horizon technologies. Designing Solutions with security and privacy at the core. Using standard approaches, considering the customer’s infrastructure limitations and opportunities; analyzes, interprets, and presents assessment results.
• Determines and defines services that complement and/or round out proposed hardware and software engagements, estimates required engineer effort.
• Uses team tools, templates, resources, and processes for maximum efficiency, productivity, consistency, and high-quality execution.
• Provides feedback to technology leaders where opportunities exist to improve offerings, design, and delivery execution.
• Assists new team members by answering questions and sharing expertise on the tools of the job.
• Assists new hires by answering questions and sharing information.
• Supporting Pre-Sales Teams
• Having detailed technical discussions with existing and potential clients
• Follows up on implemented solutions and identifies new opportunities that complement the work that was completed.
• Uses various tools to calculate the Total Cost of Ownership and/or Return on Investment and explains to customers and Sales the business value of a solution and its benefits.
• Collaborates with Partners, Solution Managers, Pre Sales Solution Architects, and Delivery teams to pull a deployment together.
• Understands profit margin and how to increase profitability; works cooperatively with field sales to ensure healthy profitability. Leverages and maximizes partner pricing, partner registration programs, incentive programs, and special pricing, to win business and ensure healthy profitability.

• Develop Backlog of new capabilities and service improvements
• Analyst Briefing : Actively participate in building content and messaging to demonstrate our innovative solutions to market leading analyst such as Gartner, ISG, Everest Group etc.

• Application & Desktop Virtualization technologies (Citrix/VMware/VDI/WVD)
• Citrix ZenApp/ZenDesktop

• Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) + Express Route
• Amazon Workspaces a PlusCitrix/ VDI
• Vmware Horizon
• Development of project deliverable documentation, including design, build and operations guides
• System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
• Microsoft Intune/ Microsoft Endpoint Manager
• Desktop Transformation
• Operating System Deployment (OSD)
• Windows 10
• Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD)/ VDI
• Knowledge of operation management, systems security, testing, and mobility considerations.
• Interacting with clients
• Assisting in proposal writing and solutions
• Communicating and presenting complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in written form
• Technical and procedural documentation including designs.
• Experience with Windows Server /2016/2019
• Active Directory
• Windows 10 desktop transformation/desktop modernization
• Microsoft Azure, specifically Identity & Access Management (IAM), Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
• O365/M365 experience strongly preferred.
• PowerShell scripting
• Application Packaging processes and technologies
• Operating System Deployment and Windows Image creation
• Strong understanding of network protocols/services and network infrastructure
• Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills

• Expertise creating roadmaps for clients
• A desire to learn and be a problem solver
• Energy, excitement, passion, and desire to make an impact
• Prefer multiple Microsoft professional level certifications such as MCP, MCSA, MCSE
• Must be able to (when business travel returns) to travel to customer locations to meet with clients.
