Honeywell’s Colonial Heights facility manufactures high performance polyethylene fiber that’s used in a variety of applications including ballistic protection, industrial rope and cordage, and cut resistance.

Position Responsibilities:

• Achieving plant targets for SQDIC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Cost) for assigned production assets
• Executing Management of Change when required
• Maintaining plant environmental compliance
• Drive business impact by improving the baseline value of key area metrics through contributions to high-impact Six Sigma teams
• Execution of Improve and Control steps in Six Sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve & Control) process
• Restoring baseline values of key area metrics for which restoration attempts by the Production department have been unsuccessful
• Maintaining and improving control plans for process improvement projects by fully utilizing DCS (Distributed Control System) capabilities
• Responsible for accurate production loss data entry into the Attainment system
• Responsible for area DCS alarm management
• Assisting with SOP and training material development
• Other work will be assigned as needed
• Production process engineering
• Troubleshoot production processes
• Project Management
• Design & development

YOU MUST HAVE

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in production or process engineering in Chemical/Petrochemical, Fiber/textile, Pulp & Paper, or
• Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
• Experience in a 24-hour manufacturing environment
• Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements.

• Experience in Fiber Spinning preferred
• Experience in a chemical plant environment preferred
• Six Sigma certification preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization
