Job description
Responsibilities:

Pride Institute is celebrating our 37th year of providing our clients with an inclusive and accepting place for recovery through evidence-based treatment for substance abuse, sexual health and mental health. Our Residential Treatment Center (RTC) staff in Eden Prairie and our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) staff in Uptown Minneapolis understand the issues the LGBTQIA+ community face, and our mission is to give clients the tools needed for addiction and mental health recovery.

Pride Institute has been recognized as one of Newsweek’s Best Addiction Treatment Centers in 2020, 2021 and 2022. We were also honored in the 2021 and 2022 MINNESOTA’S Best STAR TRIBUNE READERS’ CHOICE survey with the silver award in the Recovery/Treatment Center category.

We strive to provide the best client-centered care by employing and developing highly qualified staff trained in working specifically with the LGBTQIA+ community and dedicated to service excellence.

We are currently looking for a compassionate and committed full-time Primary Counselor to work with our clients in our evening IOP program. Someone who desires to be part of a team of dedicated and like-minded human beings doing the hard work they want and need to be doing.

With groups scheduled Monday through Thursday, our evening Primary Counselor will develop and facilitate creative and engaging group counseling programs that utilize their talents and interests and their expertise in the field. Our Primary Counselors also meet individually with our Outpatient clients. Our evening groups typically end between 8-8:30p so the Counselor's start time can be somewhat flexible. The Friday schedule can also flex depending on client needs and other programming.

Pride offers full-time employees a generous paid time off policy, health, dental, vision, life and other supplemental policies, as well as a 401k match and a stock purchase program from our parent company Universal Health Services (UHS – see below). This position also offers a sign-on bonus. We have a tuition reimbursement program, a CEU reimbursement program and a licensure reimbursement program, as well as student loan repayment assistance. Additionally, Pride’s IOP is an approved Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Loan Repayment Program (STAR LRP) facility.

Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will have an active license (LADC or ADC-T) awarded by the MN BBHT; have 1-2 years’ experience in the chemical dependency field; and have insight regarding the unique challenges faced by our clients. They must be able to pass/clear the MN DHS Background Study and a UA drug test. They must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as required by CMS. Pride staff are currently wearing masks when interacting with clients.
