Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Identify set-up, test, and/or repair simple spring-loaded pressure relief devices to National Board VR Code.Set-pressure changes including spring changes, able to calculate new valve capacities from OEM supplied information (charts) including interpolation of values. Tear-down and inspect devices.Perform the final assembly, tagging and sealing of pressure relief-

devices. Read and interpret manufacturers drawings and spring charts. Perform measurements with dial calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators. Apply advanced math skills to verify critical dimensions. Perform valve write-ups including nameplate data, guide and nozzle ring settings, and spring number. Pressure and leak test valves to National Board, API and ASME standards. Perform calibration and documentation of test gauges. Complete preventative maintenance on department equipment. Support National Board audit activities. Perform technical and repair in Gate, Globe, Check, Ball, Plug, Flow Valves. Perform seat leak and hydro test. Perform all work to API standards. Other duties as required

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

A minimum of 8 years mechanical or related experience required

Specific experience with valve and/or other process instrumentation equipment disassembly preferred

Working knowledge of National Board Inspection Code (NBIC) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)

Control Valve rebuild experience

API Certification is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $7.94 - $36.00 per hour
