WE ARE LOOKING FOR A PRESS MACHINE OPERATOR IN ELIZABETHTOWN!

Setup/Operate

DEPARTMENT: Press

SHIFT: 1st

POSITION SUMMARY:
Primary responsibility is to setup, operate, and troubleshoot various machines according to internal production orders, drawings, setup sheets, and engineering specifications. Make routine adjustments to machines, perform quality checks, perform preventative maintenance, and inspect production pieces throughout run to ensure quality conformance. Perform related work as required

Basic Duties and Responsibilities:

• Setup and operate machines (Presses, stamp, tumblers, etc.)
• Interpret setup sheets and prints to determine and set feeds and speeds
• Clean and maintain machines and tooling to ensure optimal production condition
• Identify opportunities for improved Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity
• Work safety to prevent injuries and follow safety guidelines
• Inspect tooling for sharpness, wear, and usability
• Work on teams to troubleshoot manufacturing and quality problems when they arise
• Observe machine operation to verify accuracy of machine settings and detect any malfunctions or out of tolerance conditions
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, tooling, and machines

Minimum Education Requirement:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-4 years’ experience in manufacturing environment
• 1-3 years’ experience operating machines or equipment

Qualifications:

• Interpret blueprints, setup sheets, and work instructions
• Basic math, geometry, and trigonometry skills. Use of calculator
• Experience in metalworking manufacturing or completion of equivalent machining education course
• Familiarity and ability to set up drills, mills, grinders, laths, tumblers
• Knowledge of tool offsets, speeds, and feeds for cutting various materials
• Ability to use calipers, micrometers, shadowgraphs, and other measurement equipment
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude

Minimum Physical Requirements:

• Capable of lifting and handling 50lbs
• Exposure to cutting oil and fluids
• Ability to stand for long periods up to eight hours or more at a time
• Good manual dexterity: ability to work with small parts
• Good vision required
