About us

St. James’ Academy Preschool is a Christian preschool operated as an extension of St. James’ Episcopal Church. We are looking for employees who enjoy working with young children and nurturing their creativity while preparing for early education.

Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Hours: 8:45am -Noon (occasional days may be until 1:30 if help is needed or if a substitute is needed in the extended day program). Support Staff may also be called in if they are available on Monday or Friday if a substitute is needed.

Basic Job Description of the Staff Support position:

-Help with student arrivals/dismissals

-Help get extended day students set up with lunch

-Work as an in house substitute in the classroom when needed

-Help with snack time

-Help on walks and field trips

-Take classes to chapel so teachers can have prep time

-Help with specials such as processed art projects, gym, and music

-Help prep projects for teachers

-Help in classrooms when teachers need extra hands

-Help teachers with tidying up classrooms at end of day if needed

-Be willing to jump in quickly when and where needed

Job Requirements:

-Must have current CPR or willing to take CPR with staff in Sept.

-Must be able to have and pass PA criminal Background Check, Child Abuse Clearance and FBI Fingerprinting.

-Must be willing to take the Safe Church course, which is an online class which is required by St James and also the Diocese.

-Must be willing to do 12 hours of ongoing ed/professional development hours per year.

-Must be able to multitask in a face paced setting

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
