The position performs fully operational food production work in the Division of Youth Services Food Services Department located at Prairie Vista Youth Service Center.

Prepare, serve, and clean after meal services with the assistance of youth enrolled in the vocational program. When recipe changes are required, document changes and submit report to facility food service manager. Responsible as a lead worker to delegate any prep, cooking, or cleaning to youth and/or support staff as needed.

Follows menus and recipes and ensures the youth follow menus and recipes that comply with the National School Lunch Program (NSL), School Breakfast Program (BP) and DYS policies and procedures. Make appropriate substitutions that are in-line with NSL/BP guidelines, and ensure that the products are portioned correctly.

Minimum qualifications:

One (1) year of food services experience including, but not limited to: cooking, prepping, serving, hosting, delivering, cashiering, etc.

Substitutions: CDPHE recognized food safety certification can substitute for experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.30 per hour

Weekly day range:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
