Job Summary

The Practice Administrator oversees the daily operations of the RWJBarnabas Radiology Professional Practice. The Practice Administrator oversees practice productivity, revenue cycle, physician credentialing, and budget development. The Practice Administrator works collaboratively with the Service Line Medical Director and Director to ensure the highest quality patient care while maintaining efficient operations.

Job Functions

  • Manages the practice operations of the practice in accordance with the Service Line s goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates with senior management, healthcare providers, and key RWJBarnabas departments to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations in the standardization of best practices and processes.
  • Partners with Medical Director, Director, RWJBarnabas Health Hospital-Based Physician Services leadership and internal stakeholders to standardize best practices and processes throughout practice.
  • Responsible for monitoring all revenue cycle metrics and implementing strategies to improve outcomes.
  • Oversees all third-party billing to ensure services are efficient and economical.
  • Ensures all providers within the practice are credentialed with payers in time to allow for billing of all their services.
  • Oversees payroll process for the practice.
  • Responsible for the onboarding of all new providers in the practice.

Job Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Liberal Arts, Business Management or other related discipline, required. Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts, Business Management or other related discipline, preferred. Appropriate experience may be substituted for educational requirement.
  • Minimum of two years of management experience in a primary care or specialty setting, required
  • Must be well versed in inter-disciplinary practice environments, with knowledge and experience in patient registration, billing, management of front-end staffing settings
  • Experience managing imaging programs or in major imaging device manufacturing firms, preferred
  • General knowledge of radiology operations, hospital procedures, and routine functioning of all clinical departments
  • Process management ability to effectively coordinate the efforts of professional and support staff with proven experience in conflict resolution and team development
  • Demonstrated understanding of healthcare fiscal management
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with EHR Systems and software applications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
