A. DUTIES:
Under direct supervision, this position is responsible to perform material handling operations, minor maintenance on plant equipment, and such duties including but not limited to:
Under direct supervision, this position is responsible to perform material handling operations, minor maintenance on plant equipment, and such duties including but not limited to:
1. Ensuring proper startup and operations of transfer system (i.e. – conveyors, crushers, etc) and mobile equipment.
2. Operate various types of heavy equipment (including but not limited to wheeled/tracked bull-dozers, wagon scrapers, front end loaders, tool carriers, water tankers, etc.) to perform coal pile activities.
3. Ensuring proper startup, operation of the balance of material unloading and handling equipment.
4. Ensuring proper Lockout Tagout (LOTO) Energy Control procedures are performed as directed.
5. Collection and processing of coal samples.
6. Inspecting and cleaning material handling areas and equipment.
7. Changing oil and lubricating equipment.
8. Correcting equipment problems and performing minor maintenance activities.
9. Performing preventive maintenance tasks
10. Completing log entries as directed and all other necessary documentation for work assignments performed.
11. Performing and successfully completing the items set forth in the Material Services Team Member job duty checklist within the time specified in the job duty checklist.
12. Using computer applications where appropriate.
13. Completing all training and testing requirements of the job.
14. Perform similar or lesser skilled work as directed
B. QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
2. Must maintain a valid driver’s license
3. Must have a mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
4. Must be able to work in a variety of environments including hot, cold, damp, and confined spaces.
5. Must be able to climb and work from a ladder or scaffold.
6. Must have a cooperative temperament in a team environment.
7. Must be able to receive and clearly transmit orders and instructions in such a way as to obtain cooperation and satisfactory work results from others.
8. Must demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of this job classification through the medium of tests.
