Position Summary:

Perform data entry of information (pricing, promotions, sales) to maintain database(s) through custom software. Responsible for accuracy, efficiency and retrieval of processed data. Proof material entered as required and generate data reports as required.

Responsibilities /Duties:

  • Maintaining pricing files both cost and retail from vendors, buyers, accounting and store personnel.
  • Item promotions and dynamic promotions to be processed on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. These promotions can come from vendors, buyers or stores.
  • Creating new items from vendor files, buyers and stores ensuring that proper paperwork is provided at that time. This includes ensuring the item has the correct dept/class/line structure and the vendor information is correct and any codes used for that item are entered.
  • Purchase Order creations when needed and also act as a backup for purchase order finalizations to help assist the other Data Entry Team members.
  • Make sure all filing is done in a timely manner and kept for 1 fiscal year in case of an audit.
  • Contact the stores when needed to resolve issues on new items, pricing or promos.
  • Use email to contact the stores, vendors and other personnel when possible to ask questions or solve issues.

Education and Experience:

Experience in data entry primarily entering numerical data in a variety of specialized formats. Knowledge of word processing, basic spreadsheet and database maintenance. Ability to type 50+ words per minute. Retail experience preferred.
