A policy administration coordinator is a key player within the Workplace Benefits team. This role is responsible for ensuring the operational functions associated with administration of voluntary workplace benefit products including but not limited to; ensuring consistent delivery of quality services, creation of policies and procedures related to the policy admin role, resolving customer issues, and compliance with company standards and industry best practices.
In this role, you will…

  • Be responsible for creating policy administration policies and procedures, including workflows with minimal supervision/oversight
  • Use discretion and independent judgment, consulting with SME’s as necessary, when creating, interpreting, or managing policies and procedures
  • Investigate and manage policy administration changes to clients and members (including, but not limited to, demographic changes, adds, cancellations, terminations, and portability)
  • Oversee and deliver system outputs including policies, certificates, amendments, notices and ensure accuracy
  • Communicate with clients and members as required
  • Resolve customer and member issues
  • Ensure customer setup is completed timely and accurately (including employer and broker portal information)
  • Coordinate with client management and other internal partners on client policy issuance
  • Coordinate with the Billing and Compensation team on billing and compensation setup
  • Perform regular audits to ensure EIS data is accurate
  • Research and communicate any state regulations pertaining to Workplace benefits
  • Identify and provide feedback on areas of process improvement
  • Assist other team members as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

We are looking for candidates with…

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or minimum of 4 years’ experience in Workplace benefits policy management, or an equivalent combination of experience and relevant education.
  • Excellent computer and MS Office proficiency and ability to navigate a variety of systems/portals
  • Solid understanding of voluntary insurance products including accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity and short-term disability
  • Demonstrated customer service excellence with the ability to build productive relationships with internal and external customers
  • Strong verbal and written communication including the ability to articulate business needs related to policy administration procedures
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines and manage extensive workload
  • Must be detail oriented with ability to self-monitor for accuracy
  • Excellent task initiative and demonstrated analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Comfortable meeting deadlines and solving problems independently, while helping implement solutions
