Hilltop Holdings is currently looking to hire an EPMO Operations Manager. The EPMO Operations Manager serves in critical role to support the Hilltop EPMO Director and the PMO organization by driving governance, advisory, coaching & improvement needs of the active portfolio of projects and programs. This role will assist with business case development and portfolio prioritization modeling and have responsibility for overall portfolio reporting. The role will work closely with the EPMO Director to develop and deliver organizational strategies and exploit improvement opportunities as necessary to support predictable and stable portfolio delivery results. This role is a member of the PMO management team and will serve as key advisor for organizational decision making, direction setting and successful delivery. The EPMO Operations Manager has a record of strong delivery, is self-directed and can handle multiple priority tasks.
Essential Functions:
  • Facilitates portfolio management reporting processes including analysis of gaps in process, people and technology, assists in implementing long term / short term plan of improvement in processes and practices.
  • Responsible for ensuring the project lifecycle, PMO tools, project data and project financials are properly aligned and reconciled.
  • Coordinates and reports project portfolio health, trend analysis for plan and budget including annual planning, quarterly/monthly forecasts, etc.
  • Investigates variances and works with project leaders to ensure policies, governance and processes are leveraged and maintained.
  • Provides oversight of portfolio roadmap financials and benefits realization, project financial approvals and operating budget alignment.
  • Provides project management advisory around standard project management principles, including project definition, planning, estimation, and risk/issue remediation.
  • Observes, coaches, and supports upskilling of Project Management (PM) resources.
  • Identifies success points and areas of opportunity and puts plans into action to remediate.
  • Enhances data-driven portfolio management reporting for exception management and support productivity gains.
  • Assists PMO Leadership with business case/ROI development to support prioritization of work, assignment of resources and road development.
  • Assists PMs with estimation techniques and guided workshops to delivery high quality projections for planning.
  • Ensures change management communications are considered and facilitated as appropriate as action plans are implemented.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of the project delivery methodologies, techniques, and standards utilized by the organization.
  • Works with PMO L&D Lead to develop training and development plan for PM functions.
  • Fosters productive working relationships with all stakeholders, both business and technical team members, and effectively manage their expectations.
  • Champions project management principles and best practices within the Project Management Office and throughout the company.
  • Other functions as needed.

Job Requirements:
  • Ability to report into our downtown Dallas Office 3-4 days out of the week (hybrid work schedule).
  • Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or equivalent experience or education.
  • 5+ years of experience managing vendor implementation, software development, and infrastructure deployment projects of varying complexity from concept to completion.
  • 10 years of experience with project estimation and project definition.
  • 10 years of experience with developing and maintaining project or staffing budgets and expenses.
  • Demonstrated analytical capability with high attention to detail.
  • Independent/self directed and able to solve problems independent or in team setting.
  • Able to handle multiple priority tasks, work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines when necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor project leadership through project definition including estimation techniques, business case development and prioritization decisioning.
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor project leadership with identification and monitoring of risks, both technical and operational in nature, and implementation of mitigation strategies to lessen their adverse impacts to projects.
  • Experience with project management disciplines and multiple delivery methodologies.
  • Experience with Planview or other similar PPM solution, Power BI or similar reporting tools.
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite as well as PowerPoint, Project and Visio.
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry desired.
