Summary
Westwood Country Club is currently looking to fill the position of PM Sous Chef to execute day-to-day restaurant duties. This position requires effective communication skills, a strong work ethic, creativity, and knowledge of modern cuisine and cooking techniques. As a Club that has been around for 114 years, Westwood has an excellent reputation for customer service and exceptional food.
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
Responsibilities
- Assist with both cooking an preparation needs.
- Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
- Ensures the culinary team maintains the consistent quality of food products, preparation, and presentation.
- Fills in for other stations when needed.
- Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately
- Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
- Assist with admin duties, inventory, ordering, training and scheduling.
- Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced high-demand kitchen
- Helps with staffing opportunities/dish crew supervision
Skills
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule working days, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- The ability to stand for long periods.
- The ability to conduct proper cleaning and organizing skills.
Education and Experience
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in culinary arts or an equivalent.
- A high school diploma/GED is required.
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
