Summary

Westwood Country Club is currently looking to fill the position of PM Sous Chef to execute day-to-day restaurant duties. This position requires effective communication skills, a strong work ethic, creativity, and knowledge of modern cuisine and cooking techniques. As a Club that has been around for 114 years, Westwood has an excellent reputation for customer service and exceptional food.

Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations

Responsibilities

  • Assist with both cooking an preparation needs.
  • Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
  • Ensures the culinary team maintains the consistent quality of food products, preparation, and presentation.
  • Fills in for other stations when needed.
  • Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately
  • Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • Assist with admin duties, inventory, ordering, training and scheduling.
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced high-demand kitchen
  • Helps with staffing opportunities/dish crew supervision

Skills

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef
  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule working days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • The ability to stand for long periods.
  • The ability to conduct proper cleaning and organizing skills.

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in culinary arts or an equivalent.
  • A high school diploma/GED is required.
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
