Job description
The Packaging Technician I is responsible for the inspection and packaging of thermoformed parts to specification. Additional responsibilities include, operating finishing and support equipment in accordance with process control plan and work instructions.
Essential Accountabilities
Production
1. Inspect and pack product to quality specifications and standards.
2. Apply case labels and maintain proper numerical sequence of cases. Use case taper to secure cases.
3. Verify material for disposal and regrind. Removes tubs of recycling material from the Operations floor.
4. Follow dispatches and print work orders and labels
5. Process skid and hold tags.
6. Actively participate in Layered Audits.
7. Conduct Oracle transactions as needed.
Quality
1. Identify and communicate quality deviations or nonconforming product.
2. Read product drawings and perform product measurements.
3. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
Safety
1. Perform general housekeeping duties to keep work area clean at all times.
2. Participate in 5S programs.
3. Follow all established safety procedures and use proper Personal Protective Equipment as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to read, write and speak English at a defined proficiency level to meet training, safety and quality requirements.*
* Packaging Technicians must be ability to identify color variation in materials to work in the Print Department
Desired Skills;
Manufacturing experience preferred

Work Environment Conditions:
Inside (other) - Good manufacturing Procedures/American Institute of Bakers certified manufacturing environment
Equipment/Tools Used: (office equipment, machinery, tools, software, etc.)
Case tapers, measurement equipment, thermoforming machines, computer, pallet jacks, Oracle
Physical Requirements:
Light Work (lift 10 lbs): cases of products, hand tools, bags and boxes -continually
Medium Work (lift 11-30 lbs): cases of produce-continually
Heavy Work (lift 31-50 lbs): pallets and cases of products-occasionally
Other Physical Requirements: Twist , bend, reach, stoop, climb, standing for long periods of time
Mental Requirements:
Reading, Writing, Calculating

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
